The International University Sports Federation had the pleasure of welcoming a delegation from the Chinese Taipei University Sports Federation (CTUSF) to its headquarters in Lausanne on 3 June, marking the first official visit of the newly elected CTUSF President, Mr. Ping-Kun Chiu.

President Chiu was accompanied by Mr. Ching-Yu Tseng, FISU Executive Committee Member, and Ms. Fran Lee, Chief of International Affairs of CTUSF. The delegation was received by FISU President Leonz Eder, FISU Secretary General and CEO Matthias Remund, FISU Deputy Secretary General Fernando Parente and FISU Chief Sports Officer Zhen Shen.
One of FISU’s most active and committed members
“CTUSF is undoubtedly one of FISU’s most active and respected member federations”, said FISU President, Leonz Eder. “Beyond its outstanding organisational capabilities, it has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to student-athletes, innovation and the development of university sport. The quality of its leadership, staff and volunteers, as well as the strong structure of university sport in Chinese Taipei, has made CTUSF a valued partner and a benchmark within the FISU family.”

FISU Secretary General and CEO Matthias Remund presented the strategic priorities for the coming years and emphasised the essential role of member federations in transforming these ambitions into concrete actions.
“The success of FISU Strategy 2031 will depend on the active engagement of our members”, insisted FISU Secretary General and CEO Matthias Remund. “We are building a stronger and more impactful university sports movement through innovative events, enhanced educational opportunities and a greater focus on student wellbeing. CTUSF has consistently demonstrated leadership in these areas and we look forward to continuing this journey together.”
The meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss upcoming events, including the FISU World University Championship Shooting Sport, which will take place in Chinese Taipei from 27 to 31 October 2026.

“We believe that university sport plays a unique role in shaping future leaders, and we are particularly interested in contributing to initiatives that support dual careers, personal development and international exchange opportunities for students”, said President Ping-Kun Chiu (right). “We look forward to strengthening our cooperation and contributing actively to the university sports movement”.
