Student-athletes from 21 countries and regions have gathered in Doha to try to win medals but also to beat FISU records set two years ago at the Tartu 2024 FISU World University Championship weightlifting. Make sure to follow live!
Hosted by the Qatar Collegiate Sports Federation (QCSF), this prestigious championship will bring together over 110 male and female student-athletes from across the globe to compete at the highest level of university sport.
More than just a competition, the event embodies FISU’s core values of excellence, passion, and team spirit, while also celebrating academic achievement and cultural diversity.
Doha is proud to welcome the world’s best student weightlifters for what promises to be an inspiring and unforgettable championship!
The Doha 2026 FISU World University Championship Weightlifting will take place from 8-12 September.

Education City Student Center Multi-Purpose Hall is a modern, fully equipped indoor venue located in Qatar’s Education City, a leading academic and sports hub. Designed to host a wide range of sporting and cultural events, the hall offers a professional competition environment with advanced facilities, spectator seating, and excellent accessibility.
The Education City Student Center is a vibrant, open space welcoming students and visitors alike. Often described as the “living room” of Education City, it is a central gathering place where people connect, relax, and enjoy a variety of dining and leisure options.
