The President of Macau NUSF, Lou Kit Long, visited the World University Sports Federation’s headquarters in Lausanne to sign the hosting contract of the 2026 FISU University World Cup Basketball 3×3.
We now know who will be the next host after Brasilia for the FISU University World Cup 3×3 Basketball this autumn.

Macau National University Sports Federation’s President, Lou Kit Long (right, here with FISU World Championships & Cups Director, Andrea Uccello) signed the hosting contract and the best 3×3 basketball university students are expected to meet there at the end of October.
The fast paced game (here a picture from the 3×3 Greater Bay Area Tour 2025 finals in 2025) will be at home in Macau for several days, as FIBA are also going to organise a stage of the World Tour on 17-18 of October.

“We are delighted to see our 3×3 Basketball University World Cup taking place in Macau this year, said FISU Secretary General and CEO, Matthias Remund (left, with FISU Deputy Secretary General Fernando Parente. “Following a successful edition in Brasília in 2025, it is wonderful to bring the event back to Asia. This reflects the country’s strong commitment to the development of university sport and reinforces our shared vision to grow student sport both in the region and worldwide.”
3×3 basketball is one of the most popular sports amongst university students. FISU World Cups are really special, as the participants get to represent not only their countries, but above all their universities. This makes the continental qualifying tournaments almost as exciting as the finals!
We will soon announce more details about these as well as about the event in Macau.
