Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games Village Unveiled in Chengdu University

13 December 2021

With just 200 days to go until the Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games, which will take place from 26 June to 7 July 2022, the FISU Games Village was unveiled on Wednesday morning in Chengdu University.

At the ceremony, the Executive Committee of the Chengdu 2021 FISU Games announced the establishment of the FISU Games Village Committee. As the developer delivered the key to the Village Committee, the FISU Games Village made its debut to welcome visitors next year.

“The unveiling of the FISU Games Village today is not only a milestone event to promote the preparations for the Chengdu 2021 FISU Games with high standards but also a landmark event in Chengdu University’s new journey of building itself into a university of higher quality,” staff from the Chengdu 2021 FISU Games Executive Committee said.

The FISU Games Village consists of an accommodation zone, an operation zone, an international zone and a transportation zone, covering an area of about 800,000 square meters.

The construction project commenced in April 2019 and completed in March 2021. With farsighted planning, it not only provides convenience for participants during the Chengdu 2021 FISU Games but also benefits university students and teachers after the Games concludes.

As an important guarantee of the Chengdu 2021 FISU Games, the FISU Games Village will provide delegations with various services, including accommodation, catering, workout, shopping, entertainment and cultural communication. With the comfortable living environment, delegations from all over the world can perform at their best in the competitions.

The international zone, which houses the Main Information Centre and Sport Information Centre, will facilitate delegation affairs and provide venue information in time.

All-round supporting facilities and services are being developed now that the construction is completed. The FISU Games Village Committee will continue to learn from the experience of other athlete’s villages for international multi-sport events, so as to ensure the safe and smooth operation of the Village.
