The International University Sports Federation (FISU), the Federation of University Sports of China (FUSC) and the city of Jinjiang are about to organise second edition of the FISU University World Cup Football. From 21 to 31 October 2023, the top university Football teams will compete in Jinjiang to become the next FISU World Cup winners.
A total of 12 men teams and 8 women teams will participate in the 2023 FISU World Cup Football. The results and final ranking of the Continental Qualifying Tournaments have been considered to select the teams participating in this FISU World Cup. In addition, some spots have been allocated through FISU Wildcards.

This football tournament will be organised in accordance with the most recent technical regulations of the “Fédération Internationale de Football Association” (FIFA).
Each team is authorised to enter a maximum of 18 and a minimum of 16 players (2 of these players must be goalkeepers) and five (5) officials. All players must comply with FISU eligibility rules, meaning that they need to be active students, registered in the university they represent and having an age limit of 25 years old.

Reverting to 2019, the very first edition of the FISU University World Cup Football also took place in Jinjiang (CHN), gathering 24 university teams representing 5 continents. University of the Republic from Uruguay and University of Ottawa from Canada got the World University Cup title in the men and women competition respectively.
The event, planned for 2021, was cancelled due to the pandemic.
