Woodball 22 October 2014

PERLIS – The Univerity of Malaysia, Perlis (UniMAP) was yesterday the stage of the Opening Ceremony of the 4th World University Woodball Championship which will be held on its campus until October 26. With 11 countries represented and more than 100 participants, the event is already a success for the hosts who have put huge efforts in setting up a world class event. The Opening Ceremony was hosted in the main reception hall of the university and featured a large cultural programme and a welcoming diner for all delegations. Before the cultural programme, the protocol saw both Mr. Marian Dymalski, FISU Executive Committee member and the Chancellor of UniMAP, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince of Perlis give a warm welcome to the participants and wish them the best of luck before declaring the event officially open.

This was followed by the rising of the FISU Flag and the distribution of souvenirs to the teams and authorities. The cultural programme included dances and songs performed by the international students of the university and the evening was finally concluded by a group picture of all delegations and the various authorities.

The competition will start on October 22 with the team stroke competition in the morning and the individual fairway competition at night. All results can be consulted on the website of the event and on the android application developed by the Organising Committee
