Which team will follow Croatia's success in 2024 and be crowned university futsal champion?

The competition draw for the upcoming Warsaw 2026 FISU World University Championship Futsal has just taken place. Find out the composition of the six groups that will compete from 1-7 July in Poland.

All 18 participating countries will be pleased to find out the results of the group draws for the upcoming Warsaw 2026 FISU World University Championship Futsal, which will take place in a month in Poland.

Sixteen men’s teams and ten women’s teams from 18 countries will take part in the competition. The last time so many countries took part in the FISU World University Championships Futsal was in Malaga, Spain, in 2014. Over 400 players are expected to travel to Warsaw, Poland.

“We are delighted by the huge interest in the tournament being organised in Warsaw”, said aid Rafał Jachimiak, vice-president of University Sports Association of Warsaw and coordinator of preparations for the FISU World University Championships Futsal. “We can already say that this will be a major international event, and we’re inviting fans to come along right now!”

The results of the group draw


In both the men’s and women’s tournaments, the division into different pots is determined by the results in the last edition of the event (in this case, Shanghai 2024 FISU World University Championship) and by the official FIFA ranking. A maximum of three European teams and one American team per group is allowed.

In the women’s tournament, a maximum of 3 European teams per group is allowed and no more than 1 Asian team and 2 American teams per group are permitted.

Women’s competition

Brazil, the reigning champion – who beat Portugal in the final in Shanghai – will be in group B, while the silver medallist will be in group A. China, who finished third on home soil will not compete in Poland.

A total of 10 teams from America, Asia and Europe will play in the women’s tournament.
