After 10 days filled with excitement, effort, and unity, the III FISU America Games Cali 2024 have come to a close, leaving an indelible mark on the history of university sports. And looking back, the opening ceremony ten days ago already seems like a far away souvenir.

The student-athletes proved that excelling in academics and competing at the highest level is not only possible but also truly inspiring.
Backstage sprints and marathons
It is impossible to sum up everything that happened in Cali in just one news piece. There are as many stories as there are disciplines, as many stories as they are participants and that is even without taking a peep backstage, where committed members of the organising committee and enthusiastic volunteers are running their own marathons and sprints to make sure everything goes to plan.
Strategy and intensity
From the start, the audience enjoyed 13 sports, including athletics, basketball, table tennis, weightlifting, and beach volleyball. Each discipline offered unforgettable moments, from record-breaking performances in athletics and technical prowess in table tennis to thrilling basketball matches that kept the spectators on the edge of their seats. The same intensity and strategy were present in futsal, tennis, and volleyball, where every match was fiercely contested.
