With an atmosphere filled with celebration, friendship, and unforgettable performances, the 2026 FISU World University Championship Cheerleading in Gothenburg awarded medals to 12 different delegations!
Over several exciting days, 430 student-athletes representing 16 teams gathered in Gothenburg to compete for university world championship titles across multiple cheerleading disciplines. The championship showcased not only elite athletic performances but also the unique spirit of the university sports community, where athletes, coaches, officials, and volunteers came together to create an extraordinary international event.

Throughout the competition, spectators witnessed breathtaking routines, outstanding teamwork, and inspiring displays of sportsmanship. Beyond the pursuit of medals and titles, the championship celebrated the connections formed between athletes, coaches, and delegates, highlighting the power of sport to unite people across cultures and continents.

With two gold and two silver medals, team Japan made an incredible impression on Swedish soil. Greece and USA also took back two gold medals; Australia, China, Mongolia all got one. And with 12 delegations out of 16 climbing at lease once on the podium, we can truly say cheerleading is performed at its best on four continents.
