Nora Jencusova is the queen of the San Carlos FISU World University Championship cycling so far. The cyclist from Slovakia won silver in the Criterium, bronze in the Individual Time Trial before claiming the Road Race gold.
As the rain washes the San Carlos tracks like a curtain drawn on the road racing, the mountain bikers are ready to compete in the Costa-Rican lush scenery.
The San Carlos 2024 FISU World Championships Cycling still have two days of competition to enjoy and the whole place is buzzing with excitement, concentration, efforts and smiles.
Three days of road race events
The European student-athletes really felt at home in San Carlos and managed to collect all the medals and all the cute fluffy frogs to take home. Czechia, Germany, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia all climbed on the Costa-Rican podiums during the first three day of competitions.
If Petra Zsankó (HUN), Tim Wollenberg (GER) and Jakub Toupalik (CZE) all won two medals, the real San Carlos queen is Nora Jencusova who is now proudly wearing three medals around her neck.
“I am very happy, in the previous days I finished second and third, so it is a very happy feeling to be able to win the gold medal today, it is also nice to compete with runners from other countries and see the level,” Nora Jencusova declared after winning on Friday
This weekend the mountain bikers will take center stage with the Eliminator (XCE) on 1 June (16h CET) and the Cross Country (XCO) on 2 June (16h CET).
Don’t miss the last two days of action. Everything is streamed live on FISU.tv.
