Get to know the host

Zhangjiakou, a city with a long and storied history, serves as a crucial gateway connecting North China with Inner Mongolia. In recent years, it has gained global recognition for successfully co-hosting the 2022 Winter Olympic Games.
Chongli, the main venue for the snow events of the Winter Olympics, is acclaimed as the “Davos of the East.” It is not only a winter skiing paradise but also a year-round mountain resort destination.
In summer, Chongli boasts an average temperature of just 18.4°C, with lush green mountains and fresh air, making it an ideal location for outdoor sports like mountain biking and hiking.

Peking University, as one of China’s top academic institutions and a key supporting partner of this event, provides significant academic and human resources for the championship’s preparation and organisation.
The competition

The core venue area of the championship, serving as the start point for the Road Race and Time Trials, as well as the venue for all Mountain Bike events. It features world-class facilities, spectacular natural scenery, and highly challenging courses.
The Zhangjiakou 2026 FISU World University Championship Cycling will include five men’s individual championship events and five women’s individual championship events across road cycling and mountain bike.
To promote team events, this Championship will also introduce five team demonstration events across road cycling, mountain biking and road bike on an athletics field for possible inclusion as official events in the next edition of the Championship.
