18th WUC Orienteering: 1st Technical meeting

On July 1st, at the 1st Technical meeting, the following countries confirmed their participation, and we will have the attendance of 27 countries:  Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, United Kingdom, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Norway, Latvia, Poland, Russia, Spain, Switzerland, Slovakia, Sweden and United States, bringing the total number of participants to 271.

This meeting confirmed the competitors about the 3 different places for the competitions: the long distance event to be held in Tibi, the middle distance and relays in Santo Pola and the sprint event in the City of Alicante.

 

 Santa PolaOn July 2nd, the Heads of Delegation of each country participating have been invited in the morning for a cultural visit at the Santa Pola City, but all of them preferred to go on a model event, event visiting a collection of features similar to the ones during the competition itself.

 After the end of accreditations, all teams will have the HOD meeting at 4pm and then will gather to go for a walk up to the Park “Lo Torrent in San Vicente” to parade and attend the opening ceremony starting this evening at 7pm.
