FORTALEZA – After the finals of Brazil’s University Sport League of Beach Volleyball, held in Fortaleza, Ceará from 2 to 4 May, the yellow and green has four more athletes who qualified for the Brazilian team heading to the Universiade of Kazan this summer.
In the Women’s competition, the team Andrea/Jéssica, from Uninassau (PE) beat the teams Isamara/Marielly, from Unifacex (RN) and Gabriela/Camila, from UPE (PE).
In the Men’s event, the team Luan/Leopoldo from Unipe (PB) defeated Raphael/Vinicius, from Estácio/Fase (SE) in the final while third place went to Renan/Maicon, from FTC (BA).
Besides the national university championships title Andrea, Jéssica, Luan and Leopoldo all got qualified to represent Brasil in the beach volleyball tournament of the 2013 Summer Universiade in Kazan.
In 2011, the team Agatha/Elize brought the bronze medal back to Brasil from the women’s tournament of the Universiade in Shenzhen, honouring Brazil’s tradition in this sport.
