Olympic Channel will live stream more than 100 hours of coverage from Krasnoyarsk 2019 Winter Universiade

MADRID – The Olympic Channel presents more than 100 hours of LIVE streaming coverage of the Krasnoyarsk 2019 Winter Universiade, which takes place from 2 to 12 March in the heart of Siberia. Coverage from Krasnoyarsk, Russia begins on 2 March at 13:20 UTC with the Opening Ceremony and will be available worldwide at olympicchannel.com and its mobile apps.

 

During 11 days of competition, the 29th Winter Universiade in Krasnoyarsk will feature approximately 3,000 athletes from 58 countries with the largest delegations representing the host country Russia and Canada, USA, Switzerland and China.

 

The event, also known as the Winter World University Games, features student-athletes under the age of 25 competing in 76 medal events across 11 winter sports. These sports include alpine skiing, biathlon, cross-country skiing, snowboard, freestyle skiing, curling, figure skating, ice hockey, short track speed skating, and, for the first time in Universiade history, ski orienteering and bandy which is also known as “Russian ice hockey.”

 The Winter Universiade is a multisport competition held every two years that draws several thousand student-athletes together, making it the largest winter university multisport competition in the world. More than 5,000 volunteers and 100,000 spectators are expected to attend this year’s event.
