21st WUC Handball – Day 3 of Competitions

ROU vs CZE

BLUMENAUTeams are seeking a spot in the semifinals in the third day of competitions at the 21st WUC Handball in Blumenau.

The first match stared at 14h00 with Poland competing against Uruguay, where the Polish women defeated its opponent. Final score: 28:14.

Meanwhile on court two, Mexico and Kuwait of the men’s tournament, clashed in a balanced game, with Kuwait achieving victory by 27 to 34, with player Fahad Alhajri making a difference and being top scorer of the round, scoring 14 goals that were instrumental in the victory of the Kuwaiti.

Already the European teams from Romania and Czech Republic made a strong impression in Blumenau. The score of this thriller was 30:24 in favor of the Romanians with Alena Stellnerova as the top scorer netting 5 goals.

POL vs KOR

The Polish men’s team entered the court against its strongest opponent Korea and closed the scoring with a 48:27 victory, with a tie in the artillery between the Polish players Przemystaw Krajewski and Wojciech Guminski, with 7 goals each.

Team Chile (men) faced the selection of Chinese Taipei and the game was dominated by the Asians resulting in a 27:47 victory for Chinese Taipei.

The women’s team of Chile also had its share of bad luck losing against host Brazil (30:16).

In the last game of Day 3, Turkey (men) met Portugal which resulted in a 28:33 victory for the latter.
