Canada hosts the FISU rowing championship for the first time

Almost 300 student-athletes from 20 countries will compete on Fanshawe Lake in London, Ontario. The four days of action will be streamed live. Make sure to watch!

The 2026 FISU World University Rowing Championships will take place in Canada for the very first time, more precisely in London, Ontari at beautiful Fanshawe Lake. This venue previously hosted the 2001 Canada Summer Games and is the former home training facility of the Canadian national rowing team. More recently, the 2022 Can Am Mex Rowing Championships as well as the 2025 Canada Cup were hosted at this facility.

The London 2026 FISU World University Championship Triathlon will take place from 13-15 August.

The venue

Located within Fanshawe Conservation Area, the Doug Wells Training Centre at Fanshawe Lake is the host venue for the 2026 FISU World University Rowing Championships.

This training centre is the home of the Western Mustangs Rowing Team and a Rowing Canada National Training Centre which has produced numerous Olympic and World Champions.
