The FISU World Conference, the academic centrepiece of every FISU World University Games, is set to bring together researchers, educators and university sport experts from around the world in Changchun, from 16 to 18 January 2027.
Organised by the Executive Committee of the Changchun 2027 FISU Winter Universiade in partnership with Jilin Sport University, the FISU World Conference will continue a long-standing tradition of connecting academic excellence with international university sport.
Held under the theme “University Sport in Action: Innovation, Education and Sustainability at the Heart of the Winter Universiade”, the Conference will provide an international platform for sharing research, exchanging ideas and exploring how university sport can help shape a more innovative, inclusive and sustainable future.
Write in and contribute
The call for abstracts is open, with researchers, academics and practitioners from across the globe invited to contribute their latest work. Submissions are welcomed across a broad range of disciplines linked to university sport and winter sports, including performance science, education, technology, innovation, event management, marketing, sustainability, and athlete development.
The submission deadline is 31 August 2026

Interest in the Conference has already been exceptionally strong, with more than 500 abstracts submitted by contributors worldwide. There is still time to join this growing international community, with the abstract submission deadline set for 31 August 2026.
