Support from the highest authorities in the country

The participants pointed out that General Secretary Xi Jinping attaches great importance to ice and snow sports and has issued important instructions and directives, providing fundamental guidance for the successful hosting of the Changchun 2027 Winter Universiade.

A celebration of youth, sport and winter culture

The Changchun 2027 Winter Universiade will be far more than a sporting competition. The event is set to become a vibrant platform celebrating university sport, youth exchange and winter sports, bringing together student‑athletes from around the world in the spirit of friendship and excellence.

Organisers emphasised their commitment to delivering a high‑quality, athlete‑centred and memorable Universiade, with smooth operations and a welcoming environment for all delegations.

Focus on outstanding event delivery

Key areas of preparation discussed included:

  • Ensuring world‑class competition organisation and athlete services
  • Refining plans for the opening and closing ceremonies as well as the torch relay, highlighting youth, creativity and local identity
  • Welcoming international university athletes through efficient logistics, accommodation and transport services

The Chinese University Sports Delegation will also contribute to highlighting the energy, talent and sportsmanship of student‑athletes and reflect the growing integration of sport and education.

Meaningful cultural and educational exchanges

In line with the unique spirit of the Universiade, organisers are planning a range of cultural and academic exchange activities, including the FISU World Conference, to encourage dialogue, learning and connection among young people from different cultures and backgrounds.

These initiatives aim to ensure that Changchun 2027 leaves a lasting legacy beyond competition venues.

Looking ahead to 2027

Safety and reliability remain top priorities. The Organising Committee will continue to strengthen coordination, emergency planning and risk management across venues, campuses and host cities, ensuring a secure and seamless experience for all participants. Clear timelines, shared responsibilities and close collaboration among all stakeholders will guide the next phase of preparations.

With strong organisational support and growing international engagement, the Changchun 2027 Winter Universiade is shaping up to be an inspiring celebration of youth, winter sports and global friendship.
