The Virtual Race revealed real performers

FISU 17 May 2022

The recent Virtual Race of the FISU Student Ambassadors attracted 31 runners in 27 countries on four continents. They ran a total of 126,7 kilometers.

The winners of the 3-km race were Nduwimana Egide (Burundi, time: 8:54) and Kelly Vildek (Estonia, 15:12).

“I ran at night with the car lights, it was fantastic!,” said Nduwimana Egide. “Study and sport are like twins and sport looks like therapy for brain. I’m a middle- and long-distance runner. During secondary school, I won different trophies. Now, I thoroughly organize my training sessions and study time. I am looking forward to more exciting activities.”

With 21 km, Sabah Es (Morocco) led the field of those participants who ran more than the initial 3 kilometers.

The aims of the Virtual Race are to unite the current FISU Student Ambassadors community and FVLA community in the spring run and raise awareness of FISU and University sport worldwide.

Participants ran in the following countries: Argentina, Benin, Burundi, Cambodia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Egypt, Finland, France, Ghana, Hungary, India, Lebanon, Liechtenstein, Mali, Morocco, Nigeria, Peru, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Trinidad and Tobago, Uganda, United States, Venezuela, Zimbabwe.
