Meeting with AUSF Ex-President ZHANG Xinsheng
Beijing, China – On March 2nd, AUSF President Xue Yanqing met AUSF ex-President and FISU Emeritus Member Zhang Xinsheng, presenting him the “Honorary President Award” on behalf of all AUSF members and forwarding FISU’s Plaque, in recognition and appreciation of his outstanding leadership and commitment towards both Asian and International University Sports Movement. Dr. Zhang expressed his congratulation to Dr. XUE and firmly believed that AUSF would exert a profound development the leadership of new board. On behalf of AUSF members, Dr. XUE expressed his appreciation to Dr. ZHANG, saying that “we are under the coolness in the shade of trees planted by the former board under the leadership of President ZHANG. We will exert ourselves to go further on this drive”.
Dr. Zhang Xinsheng was AUSF President from 2004 to 2016. During his tenure, AUSF doubled the number of member federations from 17 to 36. He focused on the cultivation of brand name championships, diversified its events, and strengthened the cooperation with other continental federations and FISU.
