
MOSCOW – Chaired by Chinese Vice-Premier Liu Yandong and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets, the 17th Meeting of China-Russia People-to-People Cooperation Committee was held in Moscow from 4 to 5 July, 2016. As one of the significant outcomes for the meeting, witnessed by Chinese Vice-Premier Liu Yandong and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets, A Memorandum of Understanding between the Federation of University Sports of China (FUSC) and the Russian Student Sport Union (RSSU) was signed.

Based upon the Memorandum, since the year of 2016, FUSC and RSSU will co-host China-Russia University Winter Sports Carnival, on the occasion of which the sports teams in curling, snowboarding, ice hockey, etc. from both sides will get engaged in the competitions, cultural galas as well as symposiums. This programme is aimed to enhance the China-Russia cooperation in university sports and build the bridge of friendship for the youth. The Memorandum was signed by FUSC Executive Vice-President & Secretary General Yang Liguo and RSSU President Sergey Seyranov.

The mechanism of China-Russia People-to-People Cooperation Committee was established in 2000 with the various tangible results of bilateral cooperation in education, culture, health, sports, media and other fields in recent years.
