2015 WU Update: Spanish Government denotes Granada 2015 as an Event of Special Interest

GRANADA – The program ‘Granada Winter Universiade 2015’ will be considered an event of exceptional public interest as it will benefit from tax incentives, as recorded by the draft Law on State Budget (PGE) for 2012 presented Tuesday in Congress of Deputies by the Minister of Finance and Budget, Cristobal Montoro.

In an additional provision in the articles of the law, it is stated that the duration of the program to support the event will run fromGranada, July 1, 2012 to June 31, 2015.

It also includes the certification of the adequacy of the costs incurred to the objectives and program plans shall be in accordance with the provisions of the 2002 law on taxation of non-profit entities and tax incentives for patronage.

Finally, it indicates that the tax benefits for this program will be the maximum set forth in this policy and the actions to be taken will be to ensure the proper development of the event.
