The newly elected AUSF Board
SHENZHEN – After the successful election of AUSF Executive Committee members, the AUSF newly-elected board held its first internal EC meeting in Shenzhen, China on September 23rd.
Also attending the meeting was Mr. Kairat Zakiryanov from Kazakhstan, who is nominated by the new board as the internal auditor of the AUSF, thus making the board a number of 13 people.
The newly-elected board members further decided to nominate Mrs. Beena Shah, who showed up at the previous AUSF GA meeting representing India to take the position of liaison officer for the South Asia region.
As for the 2011-2012 AUSF program, the board members added three events to the AUSF calendar, namely, the Asian University Beach-volleyball Championship to be held in Laizhou, China, the Asian University Taekwondo Championship together with the EC meeting in Kazakhstan in May 2011, and the Asian University Wrestling Championship in Iran. AUSF is also starting to create its brand-name programs which at this stage include three sports – basketball, football, and taekwondo. These three sports will be held biennially in the even years.
The next AUSF EC meeting will be held in Kazakhstan in May, 2011.
