AUSF EC Meeting
SHENZHEN – As the traditional Chinese saying goes, distinguished guests always come with exceptional weather. This is absolutely true for the 6th AUSF General Assembly Meeting. Just one day to go before the meeting, delegates has come across some difficulties in getting to Shenzhen due to the heavy storm. Nevertheless, about 60 delegates from 25 AUSF member federations have shown up in the past two days, all participating in the 6th AUSF General Assembly meeting.
Mr. Zhang welcomes Mr. KillianThe board of executive committee members, with the exception of Mr. Lee Tien-Rein from Chinese Taipei, in particular, have all presented themselves at the Executive Committee meeting. The EC meeting preceding the GA meeting, is held for the outgoing executive board to conclude their duties and prepare for the pending GA meeting.
In the past 3 years from 2008 to 2010, thanks to the hard work of the AUSF executive board, lead by its president, Mr. Zhang Xinsheng, and the Secretary-General, Mr. Kenny Chow, 10 continental championships have been held successfully. AUSF has also attracted some new members to get involved in its activities. This time, 3 nations have submitted their admission form to AUSF, namely Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Bahrain.
At the welcome banquet following the meeting, AUSF president Mr. Zhang Xinsheng has invited the whole AUSF family, together with FISU 1st Vice-President Mr. Claude-Louis Gallien, Vice-President Mr. Hassan Chikh, Vice-President and CDSU Chair Mr Stefan Bergh, Treasurer Mr. Danzandorj Bayasgalan, Secretary-General Mr. Eric Saintrond, and other FISU assessors and guests, as well as the representatives from both Shenzhen LOC and Gwangju LOC to a welcome banquet, during which he thanked all parties for their support and efforts for the growing of AUSF.
Late at night, FISU President George E. Killian has arrived at Wuzhou Guest House, official hotel of the meeting. He will attend the AUSF GA meeting on September 22nd and deliver a speech on behalf of FISU.
