FASU Elects New Board

KAMPALA The FASU General Assembly has elected its new board on the second day of the meeting in Kampala, Uganda. The delegates present had a long working session that concluded late in the evening with the election of the 5 members that will head the Federation for the coming 4 years.

The new President, Malumbete Michael Ralethe (RSA), expressed his thanks and set out his thoughts for FASU during the coming years, stressing the importance of communication across the continent as a key challenge for his mandate.

 

 

The current FISU 1st Assessor will be accompanied by Leopold Senghor (SEN) as 1st Vice-President and Jacob Nteere (KEN) as 2nd Vice-President. FISU Executive Committee member and also member of the Women’s Committee, Penninah Kabenge, will assume the role of General-Secretary. The new board is completed by the Assistant General-Secretary Boubacar Gansore (BUR), and Internal auditor Ernest Awanta (GHA).

The General Assembly applauded the new endorsed board, having previously thanked the outgoing president Hassan CHIKH and all of his team members. During the election, the General Assembly was Chaired by FISU Vice-President Stefan Bergh.
