
Shenzhen – On May 12th, 2010, the executive committee meeting of the Asian University Sports Federation was held in the city of Shenzhen, China. Board members from China, Korea, UAE, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, Singapore, Mongolia, Thailand, Iran, Japan, and Kazakhstan traveled to Shenzhen to attend the meeting.
At 8:00, George E. Killian, FISU President, met all the AUSF board members at his office in the FISU hotel. He highly praised the newly published AUSF magazine and also the very successful hosting of the 1st Asian University Taekwondo Championship which surprised Mr. Killian very much when he attended the event last week in UAE. ‘Asia is so big and divided into many regions and you are the one who can put all of those regions together. Every country, no matter big or small, you are important to FISU, and FISU will help you in anyway we can’, President Killian said.
Dr. CHUNG Tong-Gu, Senior Vice-President of AUSF thanked the FISU President for his meeting with the AUSF board members, ‘your speech always encourage us a lot, AUSF will always develop university sports and promote FISU’s brand in the Asian Countries, as we did before’, he said.
After several group pictures between FISU President and AUSF board members, the AUSF members headed to the office of the Shenzhen Summer Universiade OC to have its meeting, while Mr. Killian led his team to inspect the sports venues of the coming Summer Universiade Shenzhen.
