Seven New 2013 SU Venues Inaugurated in Kazan Today

Kazan – In the framework of the preparation for the 2013 Summer Universiade, Kazan will see a ceremonial inauguration of seven new sports venues: the Tezuche Sports Complex of the Kazan State University of Architecture and Engineering, the Miras Sports Complex of the Kazan State Technological University, the Moskva Sports Complex of the Tatar State University of Humanities and Education, the Akcharlak Indoor swimming pool, the Bustan Sports Complex of the Kazan State University, the Vatan Universal Sports Complex and the Triumph Universal Sports Complex.

A solemn ground-breaking ceremony for the new football stadium will also take place in Kazan. The stadium that will seat 45,000 people is included in Russia’s bidding book for the 2018/2022 FIFA World Cup. Prime-Minister Putin will attend the ceremony.

During the Sports Complex inauguration the winners of the contest for the best names of the Universiade venues will be awarded with special prizes.
