1st World University Shooting Championship

Pilsen, Czech Republic - September 24th to 27th, 2003

Flood Postponed 1st Edition of WUC Shooting Sport in 2002

Due to the heavy rainfall prior to the Championship, the area of the shooting range was totally flooded. The 1st World University Sport Shooting Championship 2002 was intended to be held in Pilsen-Lobzy from September 4th to 7th, 2002. The whole district of the Shooting-range is situated nearby a river and was flooded by high water (up to 150-200cm) on August 13th, 2002. All of the equipment was damaged and in consequence with the above mentioned circumstances and the impracticability to displace the Championship to another location, the WUCOC saw no other possibility than to cancel it.

Postponed 1st Edition took Place in 2003

At the Executive Committee Meeting in Trieste, Italy the FISU EC agreed on new dates for the organization of the postponed 1st World University Sport Shooting Championship due to the floods in the Czech Republic in 2002. The new date confirmed for the first edition of this event in Pilsen is September 24th to 27th, 2003. The Shooting Range in Pilsen has been reconstructed since September 2002 and from April 2003 onwards competitions will be organized again.
