KRASNOYARSK, RUSSIA – Online tickets sports of the Winter Universiade 2019 competitions started on 2 March, the one year out mark to the start of event.
“For the first time in the history of Winter Universiade, we start sales the year to the date before the event,” Krasnoyarsk 2019 Deputy Director General Tatyana Fomintseva said during a press-conference. She also stated that 30,000 tickets are currently for sale. “The sales of tickets for ski orienteering, bandy and figure skating start this summer already, Mrs. Fomintseva added.
Tickets are priced affordably for the sports events, vary from 100 to 1000 rubles (1-15 Euros). Meanwhile, Opening and Closing ceremony tickets will be available in the autumn. The prices for the Opening Ceremony start from 1500 rubles (22 Euros), while Closing Ceremony tickets will start at 1000 rubles. All told, Krasnoyarsk 2019 organisers plan to sell 380,000 tickets before the Winter Unversiade gets underway next March.
The official ticket operator working for Krasnoyarsk 2019 dealt with the ticket programmes for the past three Olympics, and has a presence in 26 countries. “About 1 billion of tickets to the sports and cultural events are sold via our websites,” official tickets operator of the Winter Universiade 2019 Elena Glukhovskaya said. “We have applied the vast experience for the preparation of the total cycle of the Winter Universiade 2019 tickets sales. The online platform is very reliable: the system endures even the enormous number of the simultaneous calls.”
Silver medalist snowboarder from the 2014 Sochi Games and Universiade Ambassadro Nikolai Olyunin said the spectator support that Winter Universiade 2019 athletes will feel will be incredible. “When you cross the finish line, you see the emotions of the supporters; this happiness overflows me.”
