2015 WU: Heads of Delegation Meeting in Granada – Day 2

Winter Games 24 September 2014

Visiting the Congress Centre

GRANADA – The meeting of the heads of delegation continued today 24 September with a hectic sightseeing programme of sports venues and hotels. The delegation representatives began the day with an inspection of the ice rink (Fuentenueva Pavilion, still under construction) that will host the curling competitions. They found that the proposed housing for the athletes were very close to the rink at a walking distance and they also visited one of them.
It was then the turn to make a detailed inspection of the site for men’s ice hockey (Granada Sport Palace). The Sports Palace has yet to be developed to accommodate this competition but provides an excellent infrastructure for this kind of tournament. A few meters away, the delegates could then visit the Mulhacen Pavilion, a sports hall which will host the women’s ice hockey tournament.
