2015 WU: Heads of Delegation Meeting in Granada - Day 2

Visiting the Congress Centre

GRANADA - The meeting of the heads of delegation continued today 24 September with a hectic sightseeing programme of sports venues and hotels. The delegation representatives began the day with an inspection of the ice rink (Fuentenueva Pavilion, still under construction) that will host the curling competitions. They found that the proposed housing for the athletes were very close to the rink at a walking distance and they also visited one of them.
It was then the turn to make a detailed inspection of the site for men's ice hockey (Granada Sport Palace). The Sports Palace has yet to be developed to accommodate this competition but provides an excellent infrastructure for this kind of tournament. A few meters away, the delegates could then visit the Mulhacen Pavilion, a sports hall which will host the women's ice hockey tournament.

Finally, they also visited the site (adjacent to the Sports Palace Granada) that will host a temporary infrastructure for the competitions of short track and figure skating.
The afternoon was dedicated to the inspection visit of the Congress Palace in Granada. This will be the logistics center of the Universiade since accreditation and transport, but also the International Broadcasting Center, the FISU office and the command center of the Organizing Committee will be located there.

Presentation of the Curling Venue
The opening ceremony of the 27th Winter Universiade will also take place in this venue.
The delegates ended the day with a visit to the Saray Hotel and the Sercotel Hotel where the athletes will be lodged as well.
After this busy day, the delegates will be invited to the Q&A session on Thursday, 25 September during which the team draw for ice hockey and curling will be held as well.
