2011 WU Update Day6 – Snowboard – PGS

Winter Games 31 January 2011

ERZURUM – February 1st- We had a fantastic PGS snowboard competition today at the Palandöken Ski Resort. The conditions were difficult during the qualifications with snowfalls and foggy weather but then the sun came and the finals could start. The level was quite high but on this kind of fresh and soft snow, chance has got a real role to play, and some surfers were lucky some not. Sang-Kyum Kim managed to be part of the first category as he won the big final in front of Sebastien Kislinger from Austria who made a big mistake just at the top of the slope. It’s a fantastic result for this surfer and it proves that Korea is improving on this kind of event. Nevin Galmarini from Switzerland won the small final against Tim Mastnak from Slovenia.

Selina Joerg from Germany won the women’s event against Annamari Chundak (UKR), she just made the perfect run.

Gloria Kotnik (SLO) won the small final against Aleksandra Krol.

The snowboarding competition will continue on thursday with the Half Pipe qualifications (Y. Dufour, FISU Editor)
