FISU Secretary General visits Brazilian University Beach Games

FISU 4 May 2022

FISU Secretary General Eric Saintrond has visited the Brazilian University Beach Games in Aracati (State of Ceara). The event organized by the Brazilian Confederation of University Sports (CBDU) and the University Sports Federation of Ceara (FUCE) ends today.

“It’s a fantastic event for students. Obviously traditional sports like beach volley and beach soccer contribute to create an atmosphere that students love. I was impressed by the quality of the competitions,” said Eric Saintrond, who wanted to experience the whole process behind the games and was delighted by the warm welcome.

The FISU Secretary General also mentioned the positive legacy the games will leave to the host city. “With more than a thousand of people attending the competitions, the event will boost the development of the local community,” he added.

Together with Luciano Cabral, CBDU President and FISU Acting 1st Vice-President, Eric Saintrond also awarded the medals and trophies to the student athletes who finished on the podium.

“The CBDU team has the experience and the competence to organize large events, this is the message I would like to get across when I’m back,” he said.
