Opening Ceremony of the 73rd AIPS Congress
Antalya – FISU is very well represented at the 73rd AIPS Congress in Antalya, Turkey. FISU delegates are in good company at the 2010 edition of the Sport journalists’ congress. ‘The fact that a number of top international sporting federations and organizations and their representatives including the IOC, FIFA, FIG, FISU and the Organizing Committees of the Universiades of Shenzhen, Erzurum and Kazan as well as the Turkish Basketball, Football and Golf Federation are here with us is very positive’, said AIPS Gianni Merlo in his welcome message at the Congress.
Besides delegates of the Organizing Committees of said Universiades, FISU is represented by Leonz Eder and Verena Burk, FISU assessors and Chair and Vice-Chair of the International Press Committee, as well as FISU Staff members Dejan Susovic, Media & Communications Director and Christian Pierre, Press Officer. Present also is FISU Assessor Kemal Tamer, President of the Turkish NUSF.
Tomorrow, April 30th, the FISU delegates will get into action as the morning session will almost be entirely dedicated to FISU presentations. FISU will show its new promotional video for the 2011, 2013 and 2015 Games and the OCs of Erzurum (2011 WU) and Shenzhen (2011 SU) will also make presentations. The info session will be followed by a lunch hosted by FISU and the said OCs.
