Students Arena in Slovenia

From October 13th to 15th, 2009, the city of Ljubljana hosted Students Arena, the largest students’ fair in the region.

Slovenian University Sports Association (SUSA) also took part in the 10th edition of the event. The fair, which draws over 20,000 visitors each year, combines the fields of education, employment, finances, health, volunteering, multimedia, sport, leisure, science and culture.

At the exhibition booth, SUSA presented the Slovenian and international university sports organisations, with special focus on the upcoming 2nd European Universities Golf Championship (Otocec 2010) and 26th Winter Universiade (Maribor 2013). Under the trademark “Zdrava zabava” (healthy fun), several recreational activities were also organised by SUSA and its members. The visitors had the chance to actively take part in mini golf, dancing and martial arts.

Parallel to the presentation part and sports activities, SUSA also hosted three interesting open debates on adrenalin sports, top professional sports and combining sport with studies. The panels consisted of top sportsmen, prominent student athletes, representatives of the University and the Olympic Committee of Slovenia.
