First International University Beach Games kicked-off in Brazil

ARACAJU – On 1 December, the International University Beach Games kicked-off. For the first time in history, after five years as a pilot project from the Brazilian University Sports Confederation (CBDU), the city of Aracaju hosts the inaugural edition of the International University Beach Games. The Brazilian champions of the National Beach Games League – Beach Soccer, Beach Handball and Beach Volleyball – will compete against teams from Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Peru and Uruguay. The competing teams represent their universities. The Beach Games run until 5 December.

The 2015 International University Beach Games is powered by CBDU and the Ministry of Sports of Brazil, with support from the Student Athletic Federation in Sergipe – FAES and the Aracaju Government. The official opening took place on 1 December at 5 pm in the competition Arena, located in Orla de Atalaia, Aracaju and was followed by two Beach Soccer games in a clash between teams from Argentina and Uruguay, and between Brazil1 and Brazil2.

The real-time results of the three sports can be consulted via the official Beach Games app which can be downloaded from Google Play. The app will be available soon for iOS and the results can also be accessed via the website www.oficioso.com.br/evento/4.

Streaming

CBDU will broadcast Beach Handball and Beach Soccer games every day as well as the Beach Volleyball finals. To access the broadcast, visit the CBDU website (WWW.cbdu.org.br) and click on the orange button in the home page to access CBDU TV.
