China goes all out for IDUS celebrations

IDUS celebrated across the country with various activities

The International Day of University Sport was celebrated across China by the Federation of University Sports of China (FUSC) with various activities including the 14thNational University ‘President Cup’ Table Tennis Tournament in Lanzhou, the National University Climbing Championship (Southeast Division), National University 3x3 Basketball League as well as the 2018 China University Marathon Series.

Importantly, in keeping with FISU’s philosophy, this year’s IDUS-related activities in China were not only open to students, but also to the Presidents of universities and administrators in the field of university sports.

The idea was to get the message of IDUS across to all sections of society and to encourage more people to spend time on the sports field and be active.

FUSC also educated people about the history, origin and philosophy of IDUS through their website. In total, more than 4000 participants were involved in the celebration across China.
