CEDU has New President

Miguel Cardenal Carro

 

MADRID CEDU, the Spanish FISU member association has a new president: Miguel Cardenal Carro.

Born in Bilbao in 1968 and having obtained a doctorate degree in law from the University of Navarra, Miguel Cardenal Carro is a professor of Labour Law and Social Security of the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Extremadura (since 2007) and the Director of Studies and Research Chair in Sports Law at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (since 2008) . His two great specialties include Labour and Social Security and Sports Law.

Since 1998 he has served as Secretary of the Magazine ‘Aranzadi Social’, of which he is currently the General Coordinator. He is member of various editorial boards of scientific journals. In addition, he is also board member of the Spanish Association of Sports Law.

Author of more than one hundred publications, both monographs and articles in magazines, he also directed and coordinated a number of collective works and has received several awards for his work.

He has held positions in various bodies of sport. Since the 2004-2005 season he is a member of the Competition Committee of the Royal Spanish Football Federation and the Professional Football League.
