BUCS celebrates 50 Finals in former SU Host City

FISU 23 March 2016

SHEFFIELD – On 16 March, the 2015/16 BUCS season came to an enthralling conclusion for 14 sports as the UK’s top sporting universities ensured a memorable BUCS Big Wednesday in Sheffield. Some finals took place in the legacy venues of the 1991 Summer Universiade.

There were a slew of impressive performances from the 104 teams competing across the four venues, including World No.1 squash player Mohamed El Shorbagy, but it was Northumbria that stole the show with a total of six wins – including four championships and two trophies. Not far behind them, Loughborough secured four wins all of them being championships, where Nottingham took home five titles with three of them being championships. 104 teams in 50 finals in 1 day in 1 City made it a busy day for BUCS!
