KRASNOYARSK – At the Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum (KEF), a cooperation agreement was signed between ANO “Executive Directorate of the 29th Winter Universiade Krasnoyarsk 2019” and ANO “Directorate of Sports and Social Projects” (Kazan). Both parties agreed on a joint development and implementation of a range of projects concerning the youth involvement into the preparation process of the 2019 Winter Universiade in Krasnoyarsk.
The Republic of Tatarstan has a great experience in organising and staging the 2013 Summer Universiade in Kazan, which was recognised by FISU as very successful. The Volunteer Support Programme in Kazan was one of the best organised.
The agreement that has been signed at the KEF will allow Krasnoyarsk to use the knowledge, methods and techniques of their colleagues from the Republic of Tatarstan in the sphere of volunteer training and work at the 2013 Summer Universiade and the 2015 World Aquatics Championship, and involvement of the Russian youth. It is expected that volunteers from different regions of Russia having previously taken part in the organisation of major international sports events will be involved in the 2019 Winter Universiade in Krasnoyarsk and its test events.
Maxim Urazov, Director General of the Executive Directorate of the 29th Winter Universiade Krasnoyarsk 2019, and Alexander Karpov, Deputy Director General of the Directorate of Sports and Social Projects, have signed the document.
“We have cooperated for a long time with our colleagues from Kazan on different issues. Today we cover one more important segment, the recruitment of volunteers, their training, and motivation. Even now our volunteers take part in events within the territory and the country. However, the main part of the volunteer recruitment for 2019 we plan to start in 2017 to allow them to participate in test events and preparing to stage the 2019 Winter Universiade. It is symbolic that the agreement was signed on the ‘Youth Day’ at the Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum as we think that the majority of volunteers will come from the students population”, Maxim Urazov emphasised.
“We cooperated on volunteers issues within the Summer Universiade Kazan 2013 and the 16th World Aquatics Championship 2015. We are ready to share our many-years’ experience on the system of volunteers involvement, their training in all aspects, and their motivation”, Alexander Karpov added.
Some 5,000 volunteers will be needed for hosting the test events and competitions of the 2019 Winter Universiade. 4,000 volunteers will come from the Krasnoyarsk Territory and about 1,000 volunteers are planned to arrive from other regions of Russia. Foreign volunteers will also have an opportunity to be part of the 2019 Winter Universiade in Krasnoyarsk. The programme of volunteer recruitment will be launched in 2017.
