Slovak Republic Officially Co-Host of 2015 Winter Universiade

BRATISLAVA – The Slovak Republic officially became the co-host of 2015 Winter Universiade, today, 25 June,  when the Minister of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic Dušan Čaplovič signed a contract with FISU for the organization of the 27th Winter Universiade 2015 Granada – Štrbské-Pleso – Osrblie. The ceremony was held at the Ministry of Education, and within the first meeting of the Organizing Committee. The meeting was also attended by FISU Secretary-General/CEO Eric Saintrond, who oversaw the signing of the contract. 

Slovakia will host the biathlon, cross country skiing, Nordic combined and ski jumping competitions of the 2015 WU. The organization of this important international event will contribute not only to the promotion of Slovakia, but also promote Slovak university sport.
