○ The slogan ‘Light Up Tomorrow’ contains a strong will to provide an opportunity to contribute to the harmony of the world and to brighten up the future of the global village.

○ The slogan is a combination of ‘Light’ (symbol of Gwangju) and ‘Tomorrow’ (symbol of the Universiade, a feast of future leaders) and it expresses the wishes and expectations for the success of the event.

○ The slogan, which came from current slogans used for the city ofGwangju– “Light of the Creation, Light of the Future’ and ‘Happy and Creative City of Gwangju,’ – is a manifestation of volition and confidence to host the event creatively and set new criteria for future Universiades.

○ The slogan is not just for the 2015 Gwangju Universiade; it indicates the vision that the entire human race should embrace.
