Founded in 2019, the International Federation for Sports Officials (IFSO) recently held a successful general assembly in The Hauge, Netherlands. As a proud founding member of IFSO, FISU was in attendance supporting knowledge sharing and best practices in sports officiating.

Held on 30 October and led by IFSO President, Mr. Patrick Vajda, the general assembly also consisted of included a review of recent activities and as an elective year, a vote on the election of the board and a review of current and upcoming projects- many of which were centred around the attainment and retainment of young people in sports officiating.

“Sports officials are what make sport what it is today,” said FISU Secretary General-CEO, Eric Saintrond. “What IFSO continues to do by providing a voice for sports officials has created a whole new interest in that side of sport. For FISU, we see much potential for collaboration here, especially when it comes to talented young people who have a passion for sport in this way,” he concluded.
