The discussions between the two delegations were very fruitful and on this occasion, the President of FISU raised the possibility for China and Beijing city to bid for the 2021 Winter Universiade which would be unusual for a city that has already organized the Summer Universiade in 2001.

The FISU President also once again presented his project “International Day of University Sports” of which he is very keen and for which he would like to have the support of UNESCO. This project was introduced and tested successfully a first time during the “Lausanne in Motion” event in September 2014.

“This is a very innovative project involving both citizens and universities in the same city”, Mr. Gallien explained. Mr. Hao Ping was very interested in the project noting that it could encourage the promotion of sport for all around the world. He promised President Gallien to study the project of “International Day of University Sport” with the greatest attention.
