Final call for nominations- FISU Gender Equality Awards

FISU 7 July 2021

There is less than one week left to submit your project for the 2021 FISU Gender Equality Awards! However, as stated by Gender Equality Committee Vice Chair Adam Pratchett, there is still plenty of time for NUSFs and CUSFs to submit nominations before the 15 July deadline.

“The Gender Equality Awards are an incredible opportunity for NUSFs and CUSFs to showcase and be recognised for their work in advancing gender equality in university sport,” M. Pratchett says. “I’d strongly encourage federations who are considering submitting last minute nominations to do so. You never know, the project might be stronger than you think and you might end up winning!”

This year there are two awards, the FISU Gender Equality Project Award and the FISU Gender Equality Champion Award, which are designed to recognise both organisations and individuals who have developed outstanding projects or made significant efforts to advance and achieve gender equality in university sports.

The prize for the Project Award is a grant of up to 5,000€ from FISU to support the continuation and development of the project. The winner of the Champion Award will be invited to be a speaker at future FISU events.

NUSFs and CUSFs are eligible to submit an unlimited number of nominations for the Project Award and only one nomination each for the Champion Award.

“We’ve been delighted by the number of nominations already submitted by NUSFs and CUSFs,” M. Pratchet concludes, “but I’d strongly encourage those who haven’t submitted a nomination to do so by 15 July!”

The nomination process is now open to FISU’s member National University Sports Federations (NUSFs) and Continental University Sports Federations (CUSFs). Nominations must be submitted to the FISU Gender Equality Committee via education@fisu.net, according to the instructions given in the General Rules and Regulations, and using the official Nomination Form no later than 15 July 2021.

A pre-selection Jury composed of FISU Gender Equality Committee and Gender Equality Working Group members will review the nominations and propose a shortlist.

The winners of the FISU Gender Equality Project Award and FISU Gender Equality Champion Award will be announced at the FISU General Assembly 2021 in October.
