#WUAlmaty2017: Kazakh Freestyle Skiers dominate Double Moguls Medal Podium

 

 

 

ALMATY – Today, 3 February, the Dual Moguls competition took place in Shymbulak Ski Resort, outside Almaty. It was a double gold for the host nation as both in the women’s and men’s competition Kazakh athletes excelled.

 

 

 In the women’s race 13 athletes from 7 countries competed. Yuliya Galysheva (KAZ) beat Elizaveta Bezgodova (RUS) in the final race while Austrian Kataharina Ramsauer beat Anniina Lahti from Finland in the small final, pocketing the bronze.

 

Men's gold medal race

 

In the men’s race 15 athletes from 6 countries competed for the gold. It was Dmitriy Reikherd, also from Kazakhstan, who finally defeated Sergei Shimbuev from Russia in the gold quest. The bronze medal went to another Kazakh athlete, Pavel Kolmakov, who beat Russian Evgenii Gedrovich.
