FVLA June session was a success

FISU 22 June 2021

The first session of the FISU Volunteer Leaders Academy (FVLA) was held online last weekend, gathering students and speakers from all over the world to discuss leadership and volunteers management within the framework of international sports.

The FVLA was initially planned to take place in Kazan, the capital of youth and the volunteers movement of Russia. Considering the current situation worldwide related to the COVID-19 pandemic and the difficulty surrounding international travel, it was decided to maintain an online format for the event, similar to the previous year.

Despite the non-presential format, this year’s educational programme is expected to be as eventful and enriching as the previous Academies’ sessions. The participants of the event will uphold the ambassadors’ tradition of continuity by helping their national federations during the 2021/2022 season following the action plans that they will develop together in September, and individually present to FISU in October 2021.

The first session included an introduction to FISU and its activities, lectures on leadership as well as presentations of best practices of the Student Ambassadors programme. The positive dynamic made the session unforgettable for all the participants, which will be reunited again for the second session that will take place online on 8-10 September 2021, more information on the last session here.
