2022 FISU Volunteer Leaders Academy begins

FISU 17 June 2022

AAM 2993

The 2022 edition of the FISU Volunteer Leaders Academy (FVLA) is underway, being delivered virtually as it has been since 2020. Excellence, teamwork, innovation, joy of sport, and integrity are all values that are highlighted during the Academy sessions that aim to build a global volunteer community. This community is then able to share best practices in volunteer projects that elevate the delivery of all types of sports events. This is the sixth edition of the FVLA with the first having been held back in 2017.

This was followed by an overview of what’s happening with FISU from Secretary General Eric Saintrond and Education and Development Coordinator Olivia Margain. Team building and a review of the 2021/22 FISU Student Ambassadors programme rounded out the session.

The next phase of the FVLA will take place 2-3 September and will again bring together the participants that are representing over 70 countries from around the world. In between, two FISU Student Ambassador activities will take place with a Get Ready for IDUS (International Day of University Sport) event on 29 July and another Meet the Continent session on 19 August featuring the Americas.
