FISU present at International Sport Congress in Turkmenistan

ASHGABAT – FISU was represented by its Vice-President Marian Dymalski at the International Sport Congress “Asian Games-2017”: international sports cooperation for peace and development in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. Many distinguished guests took part in this event hosted by the President of the Republic of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamadov including the Chairman of State Sport Committee T. Komekov; Sheikh Ahmad Al Fahad Al Sabah – the President of the Olympic Council of Asia; the Chairman of the Sport Committee of Uzbekistan; FISU Honorary Member Boris Rogatin; the First Deputy of the Minister of Sport of the Republic of Belarus V. Durnov; the President of the International Jiu-jitsu Federation and many others. The hosting side prepared a rich cultural programme showing colourful and authentic traditions of Turkmenistan. At the same time there was the Opening Ceremony of the fabulous Avaza Sport Complex.

FISU Vice-President Marian Dymalski was a speaker at the Congress and he gave a presentation about FISU’s work in the international arena. FISU activities evoked great interest in the guests. The FISU Vice-President was pleased to see great attention paid to sport in Turkmenistan and the sport facilities they have. Turkmenistan has shown potential for hosting big international events.
