LAUSANNE – Following the confirmation by the FISU Executive Committee, it is with heavy regret that we dutifully announce the cancellation of the 11th World University Equestrian Championship due to take place in Abu Dhabi (UAE) from 17 to 21 November, 2014.
The Organising Committee, which had to postpone the event last March due to a contagious equine epidemic, was unable to guarantee at this point in time that they would be able to host this Championship due to ongoing logistics issues concerning a sufficient number and quality of horses.
For these reasons, the OC together with the FISU WUC Department proposed the cancellation of the event in Abu Dhabi (UAE). Despite these situations, the World University Championships will proceed in 2016 in Flyinge (Sweden) where preparatory work is already underway.
