FISU announces new scholarship in partnership with School of International Education

LAUSANNE – FISU is delighted to announce the second of three scholarship opportunities that it offers to the student community, in partnership with universities worldwide. The CUPES Forbidden City Scholarship Programme is offered by FISU and the School of International Education, Capital University of Physical Education and Sports (CUPES) in Beijing, China for the year 2020-2021. 

This scholarship, available only to graduate students, covers tuition waiver, accommodation, stipend and comprehensive medical insurance. As minimum requirements, candidates must have a higher education diploma and must not be older than 35 at the time of applying.

 

It recommended that applicants speak Chinese (HSK 4 diploma) but in case they don’t, they should be willing to undertake one year of language study before starting the programme, towards which the Beijing Government Scholarship covers RMB 10000 of the RMB 19,000 tuition fee. Once the student obtains an HSK 4 certificate at the end of the second semester, they can begin postgraduate study with the Forbidden City Scholarship.  

 

This scholarship is only open to students from FISU Member Associations situated along the Belt and Road (please see the list of countries here). Applicants are invited to submit their candidature by 13 March 2020 at the latest. Only complete applications received by FISU on time will be taken into consideration. Hard copies of the application documents have to be received by CUPES by 31 March 2020.

The application form can be sent to the FISU Education & Development Department (education@fisu.net). Please indicate ‘CUPES Scholarship 2020’ in the mail subject, including all the required supporting documents.

 

As with all FISU-offered scholarship, achievements in sport, education and social activity are highly appreciated, especially experience at FISU events.
